Industry 4.0 is deemed as the fourth industrial revolution in Germany, and is also a strategy in the Hi-tech Strategy 2020 as issued by the German government in November 2011. Its purpose is to support research, development and innovation of new generation revolutionary technologies in industrial field and maintain the international competitive strength of Germany.
